Custom Fitting Program
River Park Golf Center is the place to go when you're looking for new equipment. We help hundreds of Central California's golfers choose equipment that makes the best sense for their ability level and aptitude.
Our Custom Fitting program is comprised of a very simple two-step process to help you select and order the clubs you need:
Visit our facility and let us know that you're interested in trying out some new equipment! We'll help you get set up to sample the clubs that you might be interested in. Our staff will help you as we conduct a brief interview to help us understand your golf game and goals. Once we know a little bit about you, we'll be able to determine a selection of equipment that might best suit your ability level and budget.
You will sample the clubs on your own on our practice range and see what 'sets up' properly to your eye, what feels good in your hands and what clubs you prefer over others. When you've identified the clubs that you like best, it's time to proceed to Step 2!
Once you know what you like, the next step is to get our expert club fitters involved in the process.
Book an appointment for our full-service club fitting with our factory-trained fitters. During your club fitting session, your fitter will identify the correct variables that are crucial to a properly fitted golf club: Correct shaft (shaft construction, overall length, weight, launch properties, flex), clubhead lie angle, Launch Angle and Spin Rate, Grip type (diameter and composition) and set composition.
The process lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. In that time we will be able to identify the best equipment for you and SHOW you why and how that equipment works best.
At the conclusion of your fitting, we will be able to forward your specifications directly to the custom club department of the manufacturer. Your clubs will then be built and shipped to us. With few exceptions, lead time from order placement to delivery is 7 to 10 business days.
As an authorized custom fitting account, we have the demo club selection, delivery priority and - most importantly - the qualified personnel to make buying custom fitted golf equipment a timely, fun and informative process.
Frequently Asked Questions about Custom Club Fitting
We have been in business and fitting golf clubs since 1999. In that time we have heard many of the same questions from our customers and have compiled the most common questions and answers below. We are always happy to talk about fitted equipment, so if you have questions, PLEASE call us at the shop and we will answer them for you!
All things being equal, the price of the golf equipment you order from us will be the same as an 'off the wall' set. Should you choose to order a premium shaft or grip type, the manufacturer will "upcharge" (pass along the added cost) us as we order the premium components, which we will likewise factor in to the final price of your equipment.
Our staff will spend a good amount of time in helping you choose the appropriate clubs. $75.00 is due prior to the club fitting appointment. If you purchase your clubs from us $50.00 of your fitting fee is credited toward the purchase price.
More than you think. Better golfers are able to adapt to poorly-fitted golf clubs more easily than the average golfer. With properly fitted golf equipment, we will help you narrow your misses, which is what better golf is all about!
More and more players are leaving the 3 and 4 iron out when they order irons from us. The hybrid club is designed to be much more forgiving than a standard long iron.
Some players want a 3 iron. Great. Can't hit a 3 iron? No problem, leave it out.
What's your cheapest set?
We frequently get calls asking for pricing on a "set" of golf clubs. Part of the Performance Center's club fitting program consists of helping each customer determine the appropriate composition of his or her set of clubs.
We'll help you choose the set that helps you maximize the strengths of your game. You specify and pay only for what you need.
Are your prices competitive?
Our prices are highly competitive with other brick-and-mortar golf stores.
I can buy this club on EBay for (amount) less. Why should I bother buying from you?
Some online retailers with no overhead will be able to beat our pricing. More power to them.
Sure, there are deals to be had...at the expense of customer service. If you want the absolute lowest dollar price, we probably can’t help you. If you value personal customer service, knowledgable input from trained staff and after-sale support, we will provide an experience that will result in your complete customer satisfaction.
There are no free lunches - so what are the fees?
During Step 1 of the process, you will pay a small fee for the use of the demo clubs which includes a bucket of balls. When you purchase your clubs from us, the fees you paid will be applied toward the purchase price for up to $30.00 (receipts required). Not only do you get your money back, you've gotten to try out your new club for free!
Our Custom Club Fitting service costs $75.00. Upon purchasing from us, $50.00 of the fitting fee will be refunded to you and applied toward the purchase price of your clubs (receipt required, 2 weeks maximum elapsed time from club fitting).
What about after-sales service?
River Park Golf Center is committed to customer satisfaction before and after the fitting and sale process. We are not some fly-by-night outfit that is bent solely on making the sale and never seeing you again. Many of our customers practice regularly at the facility. If you for any reason believe you may need your custom-fitted clubs re-evaluated, we are more than happy to assist you.
